Flamingos are big for interiors this summer. With their elegant shapes, rich textures and bright colour palettes ranging from coral to hot pink they have been popping up more and more in home decor. Their silhouettes make an interesting shape and even though they are pink, the flamingo is not too cute.
I love printed patterns on wallpapers. You can create a stunning and contrasting look by teaming the pink coloured feathers with grey or turquoise.

As with any themed look you need to be careful not to overdo it. Use items featuring flamingos sparingly with neutral, grey or turquoise fabrics and paints. Artworks are an easy way to add a theme without a major redecoration.

From wallpaper & textiles to crockery, flamingos will make a statement addition to any room. This girls room is light with a white background and just the right amount of pink and flamingo design on the walls.

This year has seen a huge interest in using metallics (copper, bronze) in Interior Design. But also by mixing these elements with amazing pastels, pinks, turquoise or bold blues. I have already talked about dusty pink and copper on my blog ‘How to use copper tones in your interior design’.
